چکیده
The flux of cells at the cell colony border region is expected to be controlled by ridge-patterned substrates, and displacement velocity influenced orientation ridges with respect contour. In this work patterns regularly separated are employed fabricate tilted initially quasi-linear fronts different tilt angles s. For periods in 3.3 – 5.2 µm range, morphological characteristics pattern, individual velocities depend on increase average front obtained varying slope changing s range 0 < 65˚ shows a behaviour consistent standard KPZ equation, pointing key role non-linear term spreading colonies. Furthermore, coefficients associated equation estimated from experimental data used numerical integration for reproducing results. This can contribute mechanistic basis design strategies enhance or prevent colonization.

Coarsening dynamics of dewetting nanodroplets on chemically patterned substrates.
Mesoscopic hydrodynamic equations are solved to investigate coarsening dynamics of two interacting nanodroplets on chemically patterned substrates. The effects of different parameters such as the surface chemical pattern, the slip length, the profile of the disjoining pressure, the size of the droplets, and the contact angles on the coarsening are studied. Our results reveal that the presence o...
متن کاملBuckle delamination on patterned substrates
Lithographic techniques applied to a substrate prior to film deposition can create areas of low interface adhesion surrounded by regions of high adhesion. If the film is under compression and if buckle delamination is nucleated, conditions can be controlled such that delaminations are confined to the patterned areas of low adhesion. When the area of low adhesion is a strip, the width of the str...
متن کاملMinimal model of directed cell motility on patterned substrates.
Crawling cell motility is vital to many biological processes such as wound healing and the immune response. Using a minimal model we investigate the effects of patterned substrate adhesiveness and biophysical cell parameters on the direction of cell motion. We show that cells with low adhesion site formation rates may move perpendicular to adhesive stripes while those with high adhesion site fo...
متن کاملCoSi2 heteroepitaxy on patterned Si(100) substrates
The influence of starting surface topography on the nucleation and growth of epitaxial silicide layers was investigated. CoSi2 layers were grown via the template technique on one-dimensionally patterned Si~100! substrates. These substrates contained mesa stripes, running parallel to Si@011#, and exhibited either a number of Si $hkl% facets, or ‘‘smoothly varying’’ sinusoidal profiles. Conventio...
